August 31st, 2016 | by

Alice Murtagh from the IFI Corlesmore office reports:

The busy competition season has begun with plenty of anglers in the area. Gowna is currently underway so hope to have results next week. There are also plenty of pleasure anglers fishing and they report good bags of fish in all areas. Plenty of Bream, Tench and good Roach are being caught in the Arva/Gowna/Killeshandra/ Carrigallen area. Town Lake Killeshandra is producing big Bream.

Good bags of fish are being caught at Killykeen while Trinity and Rann have improved greatly in the last few weeks. Good Tench are being got at Killygowan and early morning fishing on Sally Lake is also giving good bags of fish including Tench. One angler fishing at Deredis, Butlersbridge bagged 23 small Trout.  Meanwhile the Cootehill area is also giving good bags of small fish with plenty of Hybrids and Roach.
