Fishing improves, but conditions not easy at O’Briensbridge

February 7th, 2018 | by

The Munster Coarse Anglers were back at O’Briensbridge on the Lower Shannon for one of their regular matches…

This week’s match was the exact opposite of two weeks ago. We were on the same venue, the river was up; carrying an extra 8ft of water and running like a train and most of us were sitting up on the towpath to fish our pegs.

A sample of the fishing at O’Briensbridge last Sunday.

Unlike two weeks ago bites were not a problem. It was hitting them that was causing problems. Constant casting, hook changing, swapping of feeders, altering hook lengths and much cursing and pulling out of hair (those who could) was the order of the day.
