Girls lead the way at All-Ireland Junior Canal Championships

July 13th, 2017 | by

The NCFFI  report on the All-Ireland Junior Canal Championships which took place on the Grand Canal at Daingean this Saturday…

Despite a low turnout, we had for the first time at a national championships more girls taking part than the boys. This is great news for females in our sport and we hope they keep with it! Four members of the irish Youth Squad attended ahead of their training week on Inniscarra this week.

We are delighted to say that everyone caught fish with some notable catches. Sarah Connolly had the biggest weight of over 14lbs in the U15 section and we must mention a notable catch for little Bridget Cummins with 2 2lb skimmers on the whip!
