Feeder Champions 2017

Go & Catch Feeder Fishing Team – the very first Feeder Club Champions of Ireland!

50 anglers attended this new two-day competition held on Lough Muckno at the weekend fishing in 10 teams of five, representing six clubs and including a high number of up and coming feeder anglers. Sections fished were Concra Wood, Black Island, Yellow Island and White Island producing a number of weights between 4kg and 10kg.

The winning team of Mantas TamRobertas ZilaitisDonatas NekrasiusLauras SabaliauskasDarius Karaliunas and Eimantas Kašalynas got off to a great start with a fantastic 9 points on Saturday and kept their lead finishing with 23 points overall. Runners-up were CM Lakelands Feeder Club‘s White team with 25 points followed by CM Lakeland’s Team Green with 49 points just pipping Lurgan Coarse Angling Club‘s Blue team on weight.

The NCFFI would like to thank all those who took part in this new event which serves to provide competition between the clubs and certainly proved the spirit is there. It’s a great introduction to international rule at team level and hopefully everyone will be back next year on the same weekend.

Congratulations to CM Lakelands Feeder Club who will go forward to represent Ireland at the World Feeder Club Championships in Belarus next year!
