July 29th, 2015 | by

Alice Murtagh from the Corlesmore office reports on coarse fishing in the Cavan/Leitrim area…

Some pleasure anglers fishing Lisney report plenty of Hybrids up to 3.5lb, also some bream. Local anglers fishing Rockfield bagged some Bream, while Bawn Lake Killeshandra (Sextons Shore) is also giving good Bream.  Town Lake Killeshandra, Derreis and match section Killykeen are all giving good bags of fish.  Tawlagh Lake is also giving good bags of fish.  Five English anglers fishing the Arva/Gowna area report good bags of Bream and Tench, bags up to 40/50lb.  Fishing in the Cootehill area is good with some anglers from Northern Ireland and England reporting good fishing on Drumlona and Killyvaughan, with plenty of Bream and Tench.

Johnny Hagley from Carrigallen was fishing Trinity Island on the pole with red maggots last Friday. John had  2 tench both over 5 lb along with many hybrids all around the 1  lb mark.
