Good fishing on the Barrow for the Daingean Match Anglers

Julian Kendrick secretary of Daingean Match Anglers reports on a great day had by all on the River Barrow. He tells us:

Some great weights Sunday on the Athy section of the Barrow Navigation Thanks to the Athy Club for the use of the section.

As expected the fishing was peggy with all the fish coming from 6 pegs.

Shane Dunne traveled up to fish this Daingean Open Match and he is glad he did with a fantastic match win with 82.13 lb of mainly roach winning €85.00!

2nd was Jimmy Kelly with another great weight of 67.02lb of roach and hybrids, 3rd was Fint Brennan with 40.04lb of roach.

The sections were won by:

  • Matt Kemmy 19lb
  • Fint Brennan 40.04lb
  • Sean Brereton 1.06 lb
