Lough Scur clean up on the rocks

May 24th, 2012 | by Myles Kelly

Brian Bohan reports:

On a recent clean up by the NCFFI clubs  Shermore and Leitrim Youths Coarse Fishing Club on  the rocks on Lough Scur a lot of rubbish was collected. Leitrim County Council have erected no dumping sings in this area and all anglers should make sure they play their part in keeping this venue tidy.

Also on Lough Scur a small plaque was put up by Roy Craigton in memory of Tommy Shuttlewood from Barton Cheshire, UK,  who loved fishing  the rocks on Scur.

Tommy was completely blind but could still manage to catch fish even when his mates Chomper and Swampy couldn’t and though his chuckles of laughter will never be heard on Lough Scur again he will be remembered by all who see his plaque while fishing.
