Lower Bann Anglers bag weights to 11kg despite winter weather

Whilst a number events were cancelled due to the inclement weather the Lower Bann CAA anglers braved the conditions for the latest round of the league on the Movanagher Canal…

11 February: Movanagher canal hosted the 10 anglers who braved the elements for today’s latest round of the Lower Bann winter league. Winter was definitely the best way to describe conditions as frequent, blustery snow showers added to the challenge. Despite this most anglers had plenty of good sport.

Out in all weather…

Mike Perry mastered the conditions best when he weighed in just short of 11kg from peg 5. Aaron Galbraith 2nd with just under 7kg From peg 7. Ron Jordon 3rd with 6jg from peg 4 and Hugh Elder 4th on peg 1 with 4jg.

Well it’s that time of year again! The temperature’s dropping, the leaves are turning and our attention turns to the Winter League. All being well the matches will be on the Lower Bann at Portglenone but we have had to change venues on occasion due to flooding or particularly poor catches. So here ya go folks, the more the merrier….
