Roach gone amiss at Shrule Bridge on Inny
May 24th, 2012 | by Nancy Hearne
20/05/12 The Roach at Shrule Bridge were there for a few days and were gone again, there were still the odd ones hanging under the bridge but the shoals have departed suggesting either a very short run this year or that the main body of fish have yet to make their way upstream.
Peter, Derek and Chris were down at Shrule Bridge yesterday only to find the Roach very hard to get, they picked up about 12 between them and despite them being decent sizes of between 12oz and 1.5lb it was hard work, at least the Peacock caterpillers were out in force on the nettles.
Peter was gone by 1pm and Derek and Chris gave up about 3pm and headed to the Canal, where they fished with some success managing a Tench and some Roach one of which was a good size.
