SOUTH ARMAGH / LOUGH MUCKNO WINTER LEAGUE CONCLUDES

The Irish Angling Development Alliance (IADA) report that the final leg of the south Armagh/Lough Muckno Winter League was fished on Sunday last 4th March 2012 on Lough Muckno, Castleblayney, Co Monaghan. South Lodge was the chosen section to finalise what has been a very successful winter league. After a heavy overnight’s frost, fishing was expected to be tough and this turned out to be the case. The weather on the day seen a light breeze from the North North West with heavy hail showers. Lough Muckno in Castleblayney has hosted 7 out of the 8 days of the event and produced an estimated 850lbs of Coarse Fish over the duration of the event. Results for the event on Sunday 4th March were as follows
- 1st Philip Jackson (jacko) lurgan 13lb. 10oz
- 2nd Michel Walsh Newry 7lb.12oz
- 3rd Jim Mc Allister Lurgan 6lb.13 oz
Coarse fishing on Capragh Lake
Capragh as usual produces some fine Roach and Hybrid fishing from the Stands adjacent to the Car Park.
