THE outgoing Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council has called for greater action to be taken to conserve the ecosystem of Lough Carra which is the main water supply for 2,000 people. The 4,000 acre lake located near Ballintubber is one of the county’s premier fishing lakes but the deterioration of the ecosystem on the lake in recent years has led the EPA to classify the water status from good to one of review…
