Inland Fisheries Ireland is at the National Ploughing Championships

Learn about our work and also about you can apply for our latest €2m funding call.

For the next three days – 19th, 20th and 21st of September – Inland Fisheries Ireland will be at the National Ploughing Championships at Screggan, Tullamore, County Offaly.

Find us at Stand 298 (Block 3, Row 13), we’d love to meet you!

As the state agency responsible for the protection, management and conservation of our inland fisheries and sea angling resources, Ireland’s 74,000 kilometres of rivers and streams and 128,000 hectares of lakes all fall under the jurisdiction of Inland Fisheries Ireland.

The agency is committed to ensuring that angling continues to be recognised as a valuable national asset and to achieve the maximum benefit to the exchequer by promoting angling as a leisure pursuit and by developing the tourism potential of the resource.

Over the past several weeks, Inland Fisheries Ireland has also been hosting funding workshops around the country aimed at giving information and guidance to anyone interested in applying to its latest €2 million funding call.

Applications for funding are invited from groups, associations, clubs, local authorities or other appropriate bodies looking to improve Ireland’s fisheries resource. All are invited to attend this workshop to hear more about the various funding streams available and how to apply.

For more information about the funding call and other regional workshops taking place over the next week, visit www.fisheriesireland.ie/funding.
