105cm Sillan pike wins last match in Go&Catch Crazy Fish Cup

November 27th, 2017 | by

Lithuanian Fishing Club “Go&Catch” held the 7th leg of their “Crazy Fish Cup” 2017. on Lough Sillan last week…

the rules for this leg were very simple “Go Big or Go Home”. this meant only one biggest pike would count. This match was most important for us, as it was last leg of our championship of 2017 and there was fierce fight between top 3 there were only few points was the difference between anglers.

The pike weren’t huge on the day – a 70 could have been a winner

On the day 20 members gathered to find out who is best angler from “Go&Catch” club of this season.

The competition was tense from the very first minute as we knew that there would  not be too many pike caught. So every fish, every centimeter was very important. Day was very slow, as it was calm , with light easterly winds and falling atmospheric pressure… What can be worse for pike fishing? As the day progressed only a few pike was caught. Nothing big. the rumors had it that someone caught 76 cm pike – a shoe in. But as later results showed this wasn’t the biggest pike of the day. In the last two years on final match the biggest pike was 75 and 77 cm. But this year’s biggest pike was staggering 105 cm. The pike was caught by Andrius around 12pm. But this secret was held until prize giving, so nobody knew anything. Second biggest pike was 76 cm caught by Zydrius. Third one was also 76 cm caught by Gintaras.

In the end it was a smashing pike of 105cm that won the day

So ends our lure championship of 2017. In next few weeks there will be prize giving for best 2017 anglers and x-mass party!
