Good fishing for Leinster Pike Angling Club in Cavan

April 19th, 2018 | by

The Leinster Pike Angling Club report on their most recent monthly competition fished at the weekend…

We had our monthly competition on Sunday, 15 April, on a new venue for most of us so we weren’t really sure what to expect. Fishing was good for a few people and not so good for a few others…
But it was a great day with a great bunch of lads all the same.

Jan Rutkwoski won the competition with 10 fish for 37lb 04oz

Well done to Jan on his first win in a club competition well deserved. Full results below.

  • 1st Jan Rutkwoski 10 fish for 37lb 04oz
  • 2nd Albert Macnamara 8 fish for 24lb 03oz
  • 3rd Anto Byrne 6 fish for 22lb 11oz
  • 4th Rodney Gaynor 7 fish for 16lb 11oz

Heaviest fish went to Jan with a lovely 10lb 09oz pike and the Pairs prize went to Jan and Fran crosbie with a combined bag weight of 52.08

Make sure you don’t forget our next competition on the 29th of April. Our annual junior completion not a day to be missed. Get yourself and the kids out for a days fishing with some great prizes up for grabs for the kids sponsored be southside angling. Not to mention the BBQ food after the competition (my favourite part)!! See you all there.

Go fishing…
