International Predator Team received great support in River Erne competition

September 30th, 2014 | by

The first NCFFI Predator Club event took place on the ‘Schools’ section of the River Erne in County Fermanagh recently. 21 anglers turned out for the tournament organised to raise funds for the International Predator Team supported by fantastic sponsorship providing the tackle prizes.
The first Top Rod and match winner was David Powell with 2 fish for 116 cm and 116 points. Both fish were taken literally a few feet from the bank within a matter of minutes of the start of the competition. In second place was Robert Hannah whose persistence paid off when he landed a pike at 63 cm in the last 5 minutes. 3rd was Arvydas Mencinskas with 52 points, 4th Aurther Bojczeski and 5th Richard Jowik.

NCFFI - Predator club 4Fantastic sponsorship saw the competition winner receive a top Spinn rod & reel from Main Irish Angling. For second place it was also a rod & reel provided by Cloughbally Mill Wholesale. Predator Nation Clothing & Lures were presented to the third place winner with those in 4th and 5th receiving quantities of Spinmad & Predator Nation Lures.
It was a superb venue but it was just a day when the fish had decided not to play.

NCFFI - Predator club 3Thank you to Keith Collon of Fermanagh District Council who came down on the day and ensured we were safe on the bank with our life-saving kits and the all important measuring boards as used in all our events to ensure all fish caught are returned to the water faster and safer; helping us to enjoy but preserve what we catch!

Congratulations to the winners and many thanks to everyone who attended and all the sponsors; Main Irish Angling, Candy Plastics France, Monarch Dok, Predator Nation Lures, Procast Angling and Baracuda Fishing Tackle.
NCFFI - Predator club 1Feedback from one of our sponsors Barracuda Fishing Tackle who attended the event;
“Our club members took part in the annual team Ireland fund raising ‘predator tournament’ held on Sept 14th 2014 in the village of Lisnaskea – on the river Erne. It was great meeting mega experienced competitors in the field of spinning. It is fantastic to see the NCFFI predator club turning up competitors from different clubs and anglers of different nationalities, which was visible on anglers clothing.and the entire competition was held was held in a great respect for each other. On the day the fish did not cooperate 100% and you could see that anglers did not try to catch fish at all costs … so it was a perfect time to get acquainted and exchange experiences, our team at barracuda / spin mad left behind a small footprint on the tournament podium with Aurther Bojczeski taking 4th and Richard Jowik receiving 5th place bravo and congratulations. I would add the presence of using spin mad lure created frenzy among local anglers”

The six members of the NCFFI Predator Team Ireland set off tomorrow for France to attend the 7th World Predator Championships in France. We wish them the best of luck.
