Lough Derg guide lands 126cm pike

January 27th, 2017 | by

On cold, crisp January morning Pierre Montjarret launched his boat on the calm waters of Lough Derg, much as he had done hundreds of times before in the last number of years. He headed off across the lake to try some his favourite spots. Places he knew would fish well given the day’s conditions.

Pierre, in his trademark floatation suit, has a track record of catching big winter pike on Derg

In the end he exceeded all his expectations with what he reports to be his own PB a seriously big pike of 126cm. After a photo to record the moment this fish was carefully revived in the lakes chilly waters and she swam off non the worse for the wear.
