Pike Fishing by Belly Boat in Monaghan

Three anglers including Brian Coghlan and Paul Gordon had good pike fishing from there belly boats in the Carraigmacross area on Friday the 10th of March.

With Two anglers were lure fishing and one fly fishing, a total of 14 fish were caught,  the Line Thru Trout being the most successful lure.

The average size of fish was good approximately 7 or so lbs. The best fish of the day was caught on a Savage Gear 3D Line Thru Trout in deep water.

The fish were in great condition but had yet to spawn. The larger fish holding in deep water off headlands
