Pike to16lb 10oz Taken at Lough Muckno Competition

November 28th, 2014 | by

A pike fishing competition was held by an angling club from Keady on Lough Muckno on Sunday last 23rd November. The competition was a static bait competition and all competitors were allowed to use two rods. With the high water levels and recent frosts the pike fishing was very difficult with only two fish being taken. Best fish was a beautiful 16lb 10oz fish and the only other pike landed for the day weighed 8lb 11ozs.

Pike anglers were also in action on Muckno and the Gas Lake today. Boat and bank anglers on Gas lake fished hard but no fish were reported taken and no fish were observed take by anglers trolling in the White Island area this afternoon. If we get reports of any fish being taken we will let you know.
