River Inny fishing well, good pike landed

March 30th, 2017 | by

Mick Flanagan reports on a pike fishing trip on Lough Derravaragh and the River Inny…

Rob Connor from the Horseleap area and pal John Burns of Killaloo had a day to remember last week on the River Inny. John works in Tullamore General Hospital and was enjoying a days fishing for his birthday. The River Inny really produced a few cracking pike on the day including a fish just short of the magical 20lbs mark.

A good double figure pike

John With his big pike, just short of 20lb

The fish rattled the scales at 19lbs 5oz, and was in mint condition. The lads had another pike from the river which was also well into double figures. This pike fell to a Screaming reels deadbait as when we had banked the boat for lunch.
