Some good pike on Ree but fishing not easy for Midlands Pike Anglers event

November 28th, 2017 | by

Lough Ree North Angling Hub report on the Midland Pike Anglers fished on Ree on Suanday…

The Midland Pike Anglers competition fished on Sunday 26th was a tough event. There was wide agreement that conditions were going to be difficult and this was borne out by the poor overall catches. 29 boats took part with just 22 pike landed. There were some fine fish in the catch and we had 4 over the metre mark and another 4 over 90cm, but in general it was not easy.

Special thanks for sponsorship go to Wild Hunter in Athlone, Southside in Dublin and Wild in Mullingar, your support was much appreciated.

Also a big thanks to Michael Galvin and Camlin Anglers for use of boards and packs, these are excellent boards and we couldn’t have ran this without their help.

Commiserations to anyone who made mistakes with pictures and numbers but the rules are clear that were in the packages and we have to abide by these to be fair to everyone.
