Tough conditions but enjoyable piking in Longford area

June 30th, 2017 | by

Kevin Lyons reports on the pike fishing in the Longford area…

Jean- Pierre with a nice Pike

Jean- Pierre with a nice Pike

Jean-Pierre from Belgium was over once again for one of his pike trips to Melview Fishing Lodge. This time he came with son Elliott who was also up for a spot of fishing.

The weather during their stay was not the best for the pike fishing; hot and bright sun and very little wind seemed to put all the big ones to sleep. Fishing with just about everything available to them they mainly had small pike, however a few bigger ones did show up towards the end of the holiday due to the weather changing.

J.P is back in September and I’m sure the conditions will be a little different then, thanks guys.

All fish returned unharmed.
