Tough conditions for Tullamore pike competion

Tullamore and District Angling Club Held a Pike competition on Sunday 21st January.

Conditions proved challenging with constant rain for the duration of the day alongside strong winds in the afternoon.

The Tullamore anglers persisted against the conditions and the craic was had among friends and everyone caught a few Pike.

The most successful method on the day, was float fished smelt dead bait, fished hard on the bottom.

Some anglers tried lures and spoons which proved to catch some of the smaller fish.

Results were as follows…

  • 1st Pat Foran (4- Pike)
  • 2nd Eugene Cahill (1 – Pike)
  • 3rd Johnny Molynaux (2- Pike)

Upcoming Events:

The clubs AGM will be Friday (26th January) at 8 pm in the Irish National Forresters, Tullamore.

All members are asked to please attend this meeting.
