Uncle Pat wins the Johnny Owen’s senior section with a pike weighing 13lbs 7oz

Angling Guide and journalist Mick Flanagan reports :

Derravaragh Anglers were in action last Sunday and we fished the Johnny Owens Cup for pike. It was a very unsettled day with squally winds, and some heavy showers, but some nice pike were caught on the day. In the senior section my Uncle Pat Keenaghan topped the day with a fine pike of 13lbs 7oz,Albert Bethel from Dublin was 2nd with 13lbs 5oz, and local pike expert Barry Darby 3rd with 8lbs 8oz. The junior section was won by Allanagh Corcoran with 4lbs 13oz, April Flanagan 2nd with 2lbs 8oz, and 3rd Joe Cannon with 1lbs 12oz.Derravaragh Anglers host the Interlake pike competition this coming Saturday, if interested in fishing please contact Joe Keena on 086-8722449.Boat & Engine hire Karl 085-8002525.
