RIVER DROWES – Monday 17th to Sunday 23rd September 2012. by Lindsey Clarke
The Drowes had good water levels all week and there was a small run of fresh grilse to boot. The fishery was fairly quiet which is understandable give the time of the season but the rods staying in the Holiday Cottages recorded good numbers of salmon caught. The Prennick Schweder party logged 8 salmon caught for the week weighing from 4 to 8 lb. A Dutch/French party of 10 anglers recorded 15 salmon caught over the week on spinner & worm with a good number of fish hooked & lost. Peter Zahnd recorded a 4½ lb grilse caught on Thursday on a Rapala lure from The Terrace. The gauge is presently reading 6 and this means that there will be good water levels up to the end of the season on Sunday.
