Weekly update

A couple of floods and a few salmon on the Owenea

September 27th, 2017 | by

There were 2 good floods during the week on Wednesday (0.44m) and Friday (0.48m). This meant we had some 4 days of good to decent water levels. The gauge average for the week was good at 0.27 metres. The fishery was fairly quiet however with 19 visiting rods in attendance. There were a number of salmon recorded and we await confirmation of further catches. On Wednesday, Michael McCrory recorded a 4lb grilse caught from beat 7 on a fly. On Thursday, Bill Murray reported a 4lb grilse caught and released on a fly from beat 5. On Saturday, Daniel Arnold caught a 5lb grilse on a fly from beat 7. Three bands of rain are forecast for the coming week and there will be decent water levels again at stages over the week.
