Very good salmon fishing reported from the River Ilen and fair reports from the small Kerry and west Cork Rivers

RIVER LAUNE BEATS 1 AND 2

5 salmon landed on Beat 1 and 2 of the Laune fishery by local and visiting anglers averaging 6 lb. in weight.

RIVER BLACKWATER, RIVER INNY, SNEEM RIVER AND RIVER ROUGHTY

River Blackwater: 5 to6 salmon landed for the week averaging 6 lb. each, best fishing method worms.

River Inny: Fishing extremely well, approx. 25 fish landed for the week, averaging 7 lb. to 8 lb. each.

River Roughty: 8 salmon landed for the week averaging 5 lb. each.

Sneem River: Fishing patchy, little fishing effort.

COOMHOLA RIVER

12 salmon caught for the week on the Coomhola river.  Best fish was caught by local angler Paul O’ Sullivan weighing 8 lb.

RIVER ILEN

35 salmon reported from the Ilen river for the week.  Best fish was caught and released by Michael O’ Donovan weighing 10.5 lb.  Club angler Mr. Meaney caught a 2 lb. sea trout.
