Expectations Rise with Water Levels on North East Salmon Rivers

August 3rd, 2012 | by David Byrne

Bernard Devenney of the Dundalk Salmon Anglers reports that water conditions are now excellent for Salmon and Sea-trout angling on the rivers Fane, Dee, Glyde and Castletown. Sea-trout are now being caught in good numbers although the water is still a bit fast for fly fishing.  With very high tides coming this weekend and strong East/South East winds forecast Salmon should start coming into the rivers in bigger numbers. Fishing for Salmon the rivers of the North East are usually a bit later than the rest of the country so fishing should start improving from this weekend on.
