September 13th, 2012 | by Myles Kelly

Lindsey Clarke reports:

Monday 3rd to Sunday 9th September 2012

There were good water conditions over the week although the fishery was fairly quiet with only a limited number of rods fishing. Some of those rods that did fish seemed to fair well however.

On Monday, Paul McCausland recorded 3 grilse caught on spinner and fly with 2 of these released again. The fish weighed 3, 3 & 4lb and were caught in the Mill Pool and Upper Mill Pool.

On Tuesday, Virgilio Alonso Elez  logged a 4lb grilse caught on prawn from the Sea Pools.

On Friday, Frank Doherty registered a 7¾lb salmon caught on a fly.

On Sunday, Darryl Kennedy recorded 2 fish caught and released. These weighed 4 & 12lb and were caught on prawn from the Money Hole & the Black Hole. Chris Sinclair accounted for a 5lb grilse caught on shrimp form the High Bank.

With wet conditions forecast for the earlier part of the week, water levels in the Drowes will remain good next week.
