Ideal conditions but no reports of fish on the River Laune

August 31st, 2016 | by

Billy Downes of the Laune Salmon and Trout Anglers’ Association reports:

Laune Salmon and Trout Anglers’ Association waters and Beat 3.

As of Tuesday 30th of August Laune is a beautiful at 1.44 M perfect water for all methods.

It gives me no pleasure to say this but it is extremely difficult to hear of an angler even meeting a fish over the last week in what are ideal conditions and no commercial nets to blame this time.
Prospects: Bleak.

Permits for Laune Anglers waters from now to 30th of September cost only €35 with the hope that a few fish will begin to take or run the river.

Beat 3:

Ideal conditions for Beat 3 and there are a few fish in the holding pools but the best anglers can’t tempt one to take a fly. Trout fishing late evening is good.
Please note that the €10 trout permit allows an angler to fish for brown trout ‘fly only’ If you want to spin or worm fish you need to purchase a €25 permit.

Anglers please note: A ‘One Day’ salmon permit for Beat 3 only costs €25 for 2016
