Weekly update

Massive salmon from the mouth of the Nire

August 23rd, 2012 | by Nancy Hearne

During the evening on August 19th after closing up the shop Andrew Ryan went down to the Suir to see how the water levels were.  The Nire was running very clear so he decided to try and fish the fly at the mouth of the river for an hour.  He hooked this fantastic fish which was in the region or 16/18lbs – sea liced and a bar of silver.  The water was still very high, but starting to clear.
