Salmon Angling Winding Up for Anglers on the River Fane

October 10th, 2012 | by David Byrne

Bernard Devenney of the Dundalk Salmon Anglers reports that Salmon fishing continues to be steady on the River Fane. Some nice fish have been caught during the last seven days. Patsy Matthews of Dundalk had four fish of 12lbs, 8lbs, 6lbs & 5lbs. Two of these fish were released back into the river by Patsy. Eamon Berrills from Dundalk had two fish, one 9lbs and the other 6lbs. David Crawley had two fish, one 9 lbs and one 4 lbs and Gerry McCormack Snr. from Dundalk had two lovely fish of 13 lbs and 6.5 lbs.

With only a few fishing days left and water level dropping slowly it is expected most anglers will make a last effort to get out and catch themselves a Salmon before the fishing season closes on Friday next.
