West Cork salmon rivers, very low water, few catches

RIVER BANDON

Very little salmon fishing was done on the river during August as the drought conditions continued and the lower river was unfishable due to dirty water due to the on-going flood relief scheme. In all there were about 10 salmon caught mainly on shrimp.

RIVER ILEN

7 salmon reported for the month of August, best weight 6lbs, best methods fly and worm.

COOMHOLA RIVER

1 salmon reported for the month of August weighing 4lbs on shrimp.

GLENGARRIFF RIVER

1 salmon reported for the month of August weighing 8lbs on shrimp.
