May 10th, 2018 | by

Menapia Sea Anglers report on their last two competitions…

Flat calm conditions and small tides made for hard fishing for Menapia members in there latest club masters competition. Ballinamona was the chosen venue and fishing was patchy with an abundance of green crab stripping baits rapid, however hard work and quick turning casts resulted in everyone catching.

Winner on the night with a reasonable bag of 14 fish was new member James Duffy proving himself to be a tidy angler and one to watch this year. Second place went to veteran member Johnny Denby with 10 fish which included some schoolie Bass. Johnny was closely followed in third place by Kieran Dempsey on 9 fish which included several flounder over the 30cm mark.

Longest fish went to Brendan Wall with a 35cm Bass.

18 anglers fished which is the average attendance making it a strong and competitive club ideal for anyone wanting to learn more or just get out for fun PM the page if interested in joining.

Join the Club…

The Menapia Sea Angling Club was founded in 2000, by a small handful of Wexford anglers. It was felt that to retain and grow interest & membership of a successful club, it would have to engage a wide variety shore-angling, that would cater for all. For more information see
