Weekly update

Mullet and cod for saltwater fly anglers in Cork Harbour

May 24th, 2018 | by

Richie Ryan is back with some saltwater flyfishing updates from Cork Harbour…

20 May: A poor days fishing today. A short run out in bad conditions. Only one fish and no bass. Thankfully Noel Foley had a nice kelpy cod on the fly to save the blank. Maybe they’re back?

22 May: Out mullet fishing with Kevin today. Great to see big fishing mooching about the shallow water again. My best one was close to specimen size, on Bread fly again.

23 May: After yesterday’s success we were back at the mullet again today. Beautiful conditions once more and the fish responded well (as well as mullet ever do!) to the fly. The result was I caught my personal best mullet on the this morning; 6lbs of pure muscle.
