No shortage of wrasse at The Bridges of Ross

August 13th, 2012 | by Myles Kelly

Bill Ryan’s regular west Clare shore angling report:

Wrasse fishing has been slow at the Coosheen and Baltard marks so Anthony Page and I tried the deeper water at The Bridges of Ross.

The Wrasse were here! In a four hour session we had a bite every drop. We did not hook them all but lost count of the number landed and returned! I never saw a bucket of crab disappear so fast! We had several wrasse over 4 lbs. Some big wrasse were lost as we could not stop them diving under a ledge. Even the Dolphins came in close to see what was going on!

Bass continue to be elusive but if the rain keeps away marks like The White Strand, Farrihy and Poulnasherry should produce.
