Bitter weather does not stop the ‘bows biting at Cashel

December 15th, 2011 | by

Despite the bitter December weather anglers are still able to make plenty of catches with us here at Cashel.

Pat Campbell bagged three trout which weighed 11lb 6ozs which fell to the cat’s whisker.  Kilrea’s Gregory Scullion used a black and white fritz to bank four trout averaging 3lb.  Kevin Burke released two which took the diawl bach.  Derry’s Alan Temple and Billy Hazlett banked four and seven respectively which took wee assorted buzzers.  Shaune Duggan (Gulladuff) bagged two at almost 4lb and released two more which took a gold head black lure.  Dungiven’s John Hasson and Martin Bradley released three and one respectively using bloodworms and cat’s whiskers.  Joe Mc Donald (Limavady) released one which took a yellow marabou tailed beaded fritz while his friend Keith Boyd unfortunately didn’t get any to the bank.
