Dublin Trout Anglers take ITFFA Southside Angling All Ireland Club Championship

July 26th, 2018 | by

Irish Trout Fly Fishing Association PRO Denis Goulding was in touch to report on the All Ireland Club Championship, which was fished on Lough Lene:

ITFFA SOUTHSIDE ANGLING ALL IRELAND CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP Sponsored by Southside Angling, 21st July 2018

28 teams took part in the event. Fishing conditions were trying to say the least as the lake did not fish well due to the prolonged heatwave Ireland has been experiencing.

First of all I would like to thank David McBride of Southside Angling for his continuous support. This year Dave sponsored 12 Greys rods to the value of €2,600 for the top three teams. Please support Dave when you thinking of purchasing fishing items. I would also like to thank Tommy Fagan and the Lough Lene Committee for their work in helping to organise the competition and boats for the competitors

I would also like to thank Noel Shiels as it was a lot of work to organise the event, Noel and I were constantly on the phone to Clubs, trying to make sure things went right and thankfully they did.

I would also like to thank all the people who sponsored prizes, and Michael Monaghan for sourcing the prize sponsors. The ITFFA would like to thank the following people and clubs for their support and raffle prizes. Garrison Club, Partry club, Lough Conn and Cullin, Lough Sheelin Club, Billberry Anglers, Ballinrobe and District Anglers , Tourmekeady Anglers, Thomas O’Loughlin, Gerry Heaslip, Noel Shiels, Tommy Fagan and Tom Sullivan. We would also like to thank Noel Farrar for sponsoring the trophy replicas.  Noel and I would also like to thank all the clubs and anglers who travelled from far and wide to support the event, without your support we could not run this event.
