Full finned rainbows the order of the day at Carton House Fishery

The Sheet of Water
This remarkable stretch of water continues to produce the goods in style. Fishing has been excellent over the last week or two with full finned rainbows being the order of the day.

Most casting is in the ‘medium range’ category and fish are still feeding both on and close to the surface so a typical river set up of floating line and 4 or 5 weight rod is perfectly adequate at present.
Fish are responding well to a number of patterns with the usual suspects of goldheads, blobs, boobies etc being quite successful at the moment.
We are continuing to offer fishing at reduced rates during close season – where fishing is restricted to the sheet of water.
Prices for a 6 hour pass are €25 and all fish must be returned.
