Rubberleg goldheads turn on trout at the Carton House Fishery
October 11th, 2012 | by Myles Kelly
The Sheet of Water has been fishing very well as of late with a wide variety of patterns being successful. Popular choices include Goldheads, blobs, buzzers and a variety of lures.
It is a Goldhead variation of mine which is as simple to tie as a shoelace. The rubber legs (other variants have a sparkle bum) when twitched through the water seem to act as a major trigger for Mr Trout which in turn can lead to a marvellous Autumn afternoons fishing.

A fishing party from Boston. The lady 2nd from left had never fished before and yet caught a lovely 2lb rainbow on her first cast on the Sheet of Water – on the fly as well!
