Trout angling picking up nicely on Lough Derg

Ken O’Neill, IFI Limerick, reports from Lough Derg…
Trout angling is picking up nicely on Lough Derg. Mayfly not yet up, but anglers are catching some nice trout using other local flies.
Lough Derg had a lot of angling activity from boats over last weekend and have reported mixed results for their day out trolling and fly casting.
However, this young Fionn Guthrie caught this magnificent 1lb 12oz Brown Trout in Scarriff Bay when fishing with Darrin Gardiner last Sunday 9th Apr. Well Done Fionn!
