Our lakes are well stocked with rainbow trout ( 2lbs to 6lbs) with a number of specimen fish ( up to 18lbs ) to challenge even the most experienced angler.

Lyreen Angling Centre, Maynooth, Co Kildare

Lyreen Angling Centre is set in the surrounds of the rich Kildare country side. 25 minutes from Dublin and beside the Main Galway road (N4). Ran by proprietors Mick Walsh and Darren Whelan, the Fishery consists of 3 Lakes and access to two rivers, the Lyreen and the Rye.

Lyreen has a small bait lake for Rainbow. The main lake is the Coarse Lake and the large lake is Carp only.

The Curragh Springs Fishery, Co. Kildare

Curragh springs Fishery
This little known gem lies hidden away among the rolling plains of the Curragh in Co. Kildare. It is a natural spring fed lake covering approximately five acres and contains gin clear water. It was first stocked with top class rainbow trout five years ago and it has only recently opened up to anglers. A visit to the Curragh Springs Fishery is a must for serious anglers. It is a fly fishing only venue and barb-less hooks must be used when fishing this lake. So if you are up for a challenging and rewarding day-out, fishing for top class, full finned fighting fit rainbow trout, then The Curragh Springs Fishery is the place for you. Just 30 minutes from Dublin and easily accessed from both the M7 and M9 motorways [5 mins.]

Directions: Exit for Curragh Camp, go through camp, then turn left at Brownstown Inn, take second right [road], the fishery is located 500 yds on the right hand side.
