Sunday 19th August water this morning running high but clear just under 4 feet on the gauge at Johnston’s. Despite the recent heavy rain all fisheries are fishable at the moment by all methods but favouring spinning today. Beat 3 very high high but lovely clear water.
But even at almost 4 feet on the gauge fish can be caught on the fly. On the Laune there is a saying among fly fishers ‘it cant be too high as long as its clear’.
