Calling all fishermen (& women)! Navan Anglers Association are actively recruiting new members for the coming season (1st. March- 30th. September), and would be pleased to accept applications from all, particularly from our younger friends. Navan anglers hold the rights to almost ten miles of superlative fishing on both the Boyne and the Kells Blackwater. Salmon to a mighty 21 lbs were landed on club waters last season, and the Trout angling has been described as some of the best Wild Brown Trout River fishing in Western Europe. Club membership has been reduced to €120 for a full season for 2012, and when you consider that this is the DAILY charge on some of our better known Salmon Rivers, the value for money is obvious. In keeping with our youth policy, juvenile membership is only €10 for the season, as we recognise that our young people are the best resource we have. Fly-tying classes, casting demonstrations, competitions and open days are all planned for the coming year.

The club is one of the oldest existing voluntary organisations in Navan, and we hope to continue the proud tradition of our predecessors who founded the club in 1953, with the aims of preserving and conserving this wonderful natural amenity. As our Chairman, the well known angling author Peter O’Reilly stated “The River Boyne is one of our most precious resources, and it deserves to be enjoyed and marvelled at for the natural wonder it is. We in Navan anglers believe that this resource is to be shared and enjoyed, and we ask for your support in our endeavours”. Membership forms are available either by emailing the club at [email protected] or from the following tackle dealers:
