Lindsey Clarke reports:
Monday 13th to Sunday 19th August 2012
The Drowes was not particularly busy this week with only a few rods fishing over the week. Water conditions were fair and there were a number of salmon recorded despite the low attendance. On Monday, Paul Coulter recorded a 6lb salmon caught on a fly from the Black Hole. On Wednesday, Adrian McGraine accounted for a lovely 16½lb salmon caught on a Curry’s Red Shrimp fly from Tinker’s Hole. On Thursday, John Fox registered a 6lb salmon caught on a fly from the Corner of the Blackwater. On Sunday, Dennis O’Toole logged a 4lb grilse caught on a fly from Corry. Sean Farrell recorded a 4lb grilse caught on prawn from The Washstones. Darryl Kennedy registered a 4lb grilse caught on prawn from the Money Hole and Michael McEvoy accounted for a 4lb grilse caught and released from the Mill Pool on prawn. The forecast for the coming week is for wetter weather and hopefully this will equate to a rise in water levels.
