Philip Maher, Fish Hunt reports on the water levels and fishing on the River Suir:
July 9th : The Suir has finally dropped below 1 meter for the first time in 5 weeks. Prospects if the river continues to drop look real good. I was on the Kilsheelan beat yesterday and we could only spin as the river was still over 1 meter. We had some great fish up to 16 lbs on black/ gold and yellow/ silver flyingC,s. The trout were taking the spinners too with numerous trout caught in the one to two lbs category. Thankfully the Suir is still single hook and all the trout where return in good health.
