Hamish Currie reports on a recent fishing trip off the Antrim coast:

Last week was a big week for big fish with a good few specimen fish being recorded. On 1 drift across the mouth of Belfast Lough over a piece of clean ground more than 70 spurdogs were taken in a mad 2 hour session.

A few good specimens were taken but after the spurs had wiped out the huge shoal of whiting they were feeding on they moved on and we couldn’t track them any more.

We decided to work closer to shore for Pollack and wrasse to finish the day and many fish were taken.
