Congratulations to Connaught on a clean sweep in the 2012 TAFI Inter-Pro Lake Championship held on Lough Owel on Saturday 8th September 2012.  In very tough conditions, Connaught just edged out Leinster to win the Inter-Pro Lake Championship.  With lots of blanks and anglers struggling to meet trout in the unfavourable conditions, it was a very tight finish with both Connaught and Leinster finishing up with ten trout apiece, but with Connaught’s ten fish being slightly heavier they were crowned the 2012 Inter-Pro Lake Champions.  Loughrea took the Team Event and Tom Carroll (Connaught) is the Inter-Pro Lake Champion for 2012.Eugene Fagan (Leinster) used his local knowledge to take 2nd place overall and caught three keepable trout but his heaviest two were not enough to take the individual honours.  In third place was Hubert Smith (Leinster) also with two keepable trout.
