Eamonn  Conway reports that the Fane is in good condition and nice for trout fishing. He has had some good trout fishing on the Fane and its tributaries during the last couple of weeks and has reported catching and releasing a number of nice trout on recent outings the latest of which was on Sunday last 29th July. Many of the fish were in the 7 to 9 inch category but the best fish measured in at 11 inches. In what is supposed to be the height of the dry-fly season many of the trout are still being taken on weighted nymphs. Eamonn reports that there were plenty of small olives hatching and some sedge but for some reason the trout were not actively feeding on the surface.
