Top rods over the first weekend were Co Galway pair of Tomasz Kurman and Jacek Gorny who won both days catching 156 fish between them in the two 6 hour matches for a total of 3,823points. Exceptional fishing from two great lure anglers, who finished on the maximum 2 point score for the weekend.

(The winning pair in the 2012 World Championships only caught 33 fish over the two days for a total of 1,299points, this show how good this Erne system is as a venue for the event)

The battle for second place in the overall standings is far from settled with three pairs separated by only 2 points.

Runners up over the weekend were Co Armagh pair Colin Rutherford and Lindsey McFadden who caught 56 fish ending the weekend on 5 match points.
