Ian Powell of the Blackwater Lodge reports:

After a small flood on the 18th. we are now back down to the all-time record low level of just 0.11m on the Ballyduff gauge.

In spite of this, we have caught 188 fish to 15lb. for 377 rod days in the 18 days to September 26th. – remarkable given the all-time low water levels.

The Blackwater Lodge has totally exclusive fishing rights on an enviable selection of the best beats on this superb salmon river. Our beats have been carefully chosen to offer anglers a variety of fast water, flats & deep pools to suit all fishing methods. The huge extent of our fishery means that we can follow the runs of salmon from the lower beats in low water conditions to the upper river when they run through in high water. This unique fishery extends as far as 28 miles upstream from the Lodge.
